The Doshas : Every person has a particular and unique mix of the 5 fondamental elements (ether, air, water, fire and earth). These elements interact between them looking forward to keeping balance. The doshas are a mix of two of the five elements (because it's impossible to have just one dominant element in our bodies) :
- Vata (air & ether),
- Kapha (earth & water).
- Pitta (fire & water) and
Each of these 3 doshas represents the main attributs of a person. These 3 doshas combine between them to give us another 4 sub-classifications for a total of 7. This classification helps us to recognise physical and mental characteristics in an individual.
The 5 elements : ether, air, fire, water and earth compose the univers and the human being, influencing the doshas.
Ayurveda, composed of "ayu" (life) and "veda" (sciences, knowledge), it's the knowledge of life , health and longevity.
Ayurveda is a science with its own system for studying anatomy, physiology, and human pathology, including diagnosis and treatment. Ayurvedic medicine is founded on an understanding of how our lifestyle, food, and work impact our metabolism, our basic constitution.
